If you are having trouble, please simply try the login process again. This solves the issue most of the time. If the login link is still not working or you are seeing an error, please try the following:
- Request a new link: Links expire quickly for security. Try fresh login process again.
- Check your connection: Ensure you have a stable internet connection via Wi-Fi or cellular data.
- Update the app: Visit the App Store or Google Play Store to ensure you are using the latest version of SmartNews.
- If you are stuck in a loop where the link just opens the app but does not log you in, try copying the entire URL from the email and pasting it into your mobile browser like Safari or Chrome instead of clicking it.
What if I receive the email on a different device than my phone or tablet?
If you're currently checking your email on a computer but would like to log in on your mobile device or another device where you've received emails, please follow these steps:
- Open your email account on the mobile device where the SmartNews app is installed.
- If you cannot access that email account on your mobile device, forward the login email to an address you can open on that phone or tablet.
- Tap the link or copy the code directly on the target device. Because these links are time-limited for security, you must open the URL quickly on the device where you want to use SmartNews.

Why am I getting an error code when verifying my email login?
If the app displays an error message immediately after you enter your email verification login code, your account has most likely triggered a temporary protective lock.
The Cause: This error typically happens when too many security requests are generated in a short period.
The Fix: Do not repeatedly request new codes, as this will extend the system block. Please wait a full 24 hours before attempting to log in again to let the automated security window reset.
