If you successfully exchanged your SmartNews Points but haven't received your gift card email, you can track your reward and find your reference details directly inside the app.
Follow the steps below to locate your reward or resolve the issue instantly.
Step 1: Locate your Tango Reference ID in the App
Open the SmartNews app and navigate to the My Rewards (or Missions) tab.
Tap on Points History (located directly below your point balance).
Select the Redeemed tab at the top.
Tap on the specific item you attempted to redeem.
Scroll to the bottom of the screen to find your Tango Reference ID.
Step 2: Choose the scenario that matches your issue
Depending on what you see on your screen, follow the corresponding instructions below to claim your reward:
📥 Scenario A: You already entered your email address but never received the gift card
If your points were deducted and you already submitted your email but the gift card hasn't arrived (and isn't in your spam folder):
Action: Copy the Tango Reference ID from the bottom of your redemption screen and contact the Tango Support team directly for immediate delivery assistance.
Tango Support Contact Options:
Chat: Visit the Tango Help Center and open the chat window in the lower-right corner.
Phone: Call 877-558-2646 (Available 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM PT, 7 days a week).
🏷️ Scenario B: You need to select your specific gift card brand
If your SmartNews points successfully transferred to Tango but you haven't chosen your final retail gift card (e.g., Amazon, Starbucks, Target):
Action: Tap the Visit Tango button on the redemption screen. From there, you can select your preferred gift card brand and enter your secure email address to complete the delivery.
❓ Scenario C: You are completely lost or the information is missing
If your points disappeared, your history is blank, or you cannot find the transaction details:
Action: We are here to help! Reach out to SmartNews Support. To help us resolve this on our first reply, please include your Transaction ID and your Device Token in your message.
