To ensure your SmartNews Points are protected and available when you switch devices, you must link to a registered account. If you earn points as a guest (without being logged in), those points are stored only on that specific device and cannot be recovered or transferred if the app is deleted or moved.
Steps to Save Your Points
Make sure you are logged in on your old device: Open SmartNews on your original device and check your Profile tab. If you are not logged in, please create a new account now to ensure your current points are synced to our servers before you move to a new device.
Log into the same account on your new device: Once you have your new device, download SmartNews and log in using the exact same credentials.
Important Warnings
The Login Sequence Matters: When you log into an existing account, points currently on the device (guest points) do not automatically merge or transfer into that account. Logging into an account that already has a balance will overwrite the local guest points on the device.
No Manual Transfers: SmartNews does not manually transfer points between different accounts or from a guest status once they are lost.
